StrengthsFinder talent themes are effective in giving our strongest and recurring patterns of thought, feeling and behaviour, but does not tap into the “secret zone” of passions, desires, dreams, yearnings, and core values of a person.
We therefore use talents as a uniqueness starting point which is very effective to change initial strong life mind-sets because it comes with a language that describe uniqueness, and is powerful to build understanding in relationships.
When it comes to a person’s ‘purpose’ or area of greatest contribution though, we leave talent behind to some extent and delve into the core of the persons uniqueness where various facets of talent, values, gifting, passions, desires, dreams, yearnings flows together as holistic and complete.
